Terms of Use & Privacy
Welcome to Inkso™ (the “Service”), a free, browser-based tool for viewing and editing PDF files. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service runs entirely in your browser
All PDF processing — opening, editing, signing, and saving — happens locally on your own device. Your files are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on our servers. We do not see, collect, retain, or have access to the documents you open or the edits you make. When you close the browser tab, your file and your edits are gone unless you have downloaded the result yourself.
2. Advertising and cookies
Inkso is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to show ads, which may store and read cookies or similar identifiers on your device to measure ads and — only with your consent — personalise them. For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a consent banner asks your permission before non-essential advertising cookies are used, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time. This advertising data is handled by Google as an independent controller and is entirely separate from the documents you edit, which are never uploaded (see Section 1). For details, see Google’s information on how it uses data from sites that use its services and your Google ad settings.
3. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not use the Service to:
- create, alter, forge, or tamper with any document with intent to deceive or defraud;
- remove, add, or modify signatures, dates, names, figures, or other content on any document you are not authorized to change;
- produce falsified contracts, identity documents, financial records, academic records, government documents, or any other document whose alteration is unlawful;
- infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party;
- violate any applicable law or regulation.
You are solely responsible for the documents you process, the edits you make, and the legality and consequences of how you use the resulting files.
4. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that edits will be applied exactly as intended for every PDF. PDF files vary widely; some documents may not edit or render correctly. Always review and verify the downloaded file before relying on it.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Inkso™ and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any loss of data, documents, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including any damages resulting from edits made with the Service or from reliance on a file it produced.
6. Intellectual property
The Service’s own code is owned by Inkso™. The Service is built with open-source libraries that remain under their own licenses; see the third-party licenses. “PDF” is used here only as the name of the open ISO 32000 file format; the Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Adobe Inc.
7. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [your country / state], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
